In a way, this makes the game more fast-paced and gets you to kicking ass faster, but maybe you like the slow burn of preparation. With awesome weapons, hard as balls boss fights, and absolutely amazing music by DM DOKURO, you can't go wrong with it as your first choice.īut HOW you want to get to that stage is a completely different matter, and the way you progress through Calamity is an experience that balances around itself rather than Terraria. When you play a game like Terraria, what do you like out of it? The slow grind to more powerful gear, fighting against bosses with careful preparation and eventually becoming an absolute badass? If that were the case, then Calamity would without a doubt work for you. So when it comes to Calamity, it becomes a bit of a preference for what you want out of the game.
Just for context, I've only gotten as far as Skeletron at the moment.
#Terraria mods calamity mod
I've had it in various other mod packs before, but all of the items in Thorium were never used because I was focused on other mod packs. As for Thorium, I'm currently on my first expert playthrough with the mod and nothing else. I never finished a full playthrough with both mods, but I managed to get to a bunch of the end game bosses in Calamity (bosses that go beyond Moon Lord). As far as Thorium and Calamity goes, I'll break it down based on my experience.
